We’re just 1 week away from CONEXPO-CON/AGG, one of the largest events for the construction equipment industry — and thus the fluid power and other technology sectors serving it as well.
This year will be my sixth time attending the event, but that does not mean I am any less excited to see what’s in store at the show. There are so many trends shaping construction equipment designs and the componentry within it, from automation and electrification to artificial intelligence (AI) and connectivity, and I’m looking forward to seeing the advancements taking place in these and many other areas.
From the hydraulics and pneumatics sector in particular, which will be well represented again at this year’s show, I anticipate seeing more developments in the areas of digitalization, electronic control and efficiency — all of which have been gaining in importance to help meet the desire for increased productivity and lower operating costs.
Leading up to the show I’ve been speaking with fluid power companies exhibiting at CONEXPO 2026 to learn what technologies and trends they expect to see this year. Not surprisingly, at the top of the list for many are advancements in automation, smarter controls and of course AI.
Others noted the rising trend toward offering fully integrated solutions and growing use of steer-by-wire technology within the off-highway equipment market as technological developments they anticipate seeing at CONEXPO.
You can find our Q&As with Bosch Rexroth, Bucher Hydraulics, Bailey International and more on our dedicated CONEXPO 2026 page where you’ll also find other news and content related to the event. And be sure you’re signed up for our Power & Motion News e-newsletter which will be sent each day of CONEXPO starting March 2 to keep you updated on the latest from the show floor.
