Building the Bobcat T7X

Feb. 7, 2022
Close collaboration between Moog and Doosan Bobcat enabled the creation of an all-electric compact track loader.

At the 2022 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Doosan Bobcat unveiled the Bobcat T7X, billed as “the world’s first all-electric compact track loader.” The construction equipment OEM collaborated with Moog Inc. on the development of the electric machine.

All hydraulics were removed from the machine and replaced with Moog's machine electrification system comprised of software and various electronic components including electric cylinders for lift and tilt, electric traction motors and electric power components.

Moog's electric cylinders are designed to provide the size and power necessary to meet the performance requirements of compact track loaders. The company worked closely with Doosan on the project, during which it was determined a system-level change was needed to really transform the machine said Joe Baldi, director of strategy & partnerships at Moog.

In this video interview with Power & Motion, Baldi and Joe Alfieri, vice president and general manager of Moog Construction  a business unit of Moog Inc.  discuss the collaboration with Doosan Bobcat on the T7X.
