The past week has been a good one for Eaton Corp., as the hydraulics company was recognized twice in the last five days—once for being ethical, and another for its new line of "smart" hydraulic hose.
Last Friday, the company announced that it was recognized by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the sixth consecutive year.
Ethisphere reviewed thousands of nominations from companies in more than 100 countries and 36 industries to determine the winners. The research and selection process included reviewing companies’ codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; looking at activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
In addition, we received word yesterday that Eaton's LifeSense hydraulic hose, which we've written about several times in the past year, is a winner of H&P's sister publication New Equipment Digest's Gold Award in its King Awards competition. The print and digital readers of NED determine the winners by voting for the best products in 11 specific industrial categories. More than 6000 votes were cast.
The hose won the Fluid/Pneumatic Power category, which is no surprise because this unique new component will change the way hydraulic hose is monitored and replaced. Kudos to the engineering folks out in Eden Prairie for this recognition!
