It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the end of 2025 and starting to think about plans for 2026. Developments in more efficient components and systems, integrated intelligence as well as technologies for emerging markets such as data centers were just some of the key topic areas of focus for Power & Motion in 2025.
This year also saw the return of some major shows for the fluid power and other motion technology sectors we cover, namely bauma and Agritechnica. Among the largest events for two of the largest customer markets for our audience — construction and agricultural equipment, respectively — these shows offered a number of coverage opportunities due to the new technology introductions and industry trends they showcase, many of which I am still digging through.
Catch up on our bauma and Agritechnica coverage you may have missed!

And with CONEXPO returning in 2026, there is sure to be even more great technology and industry trend information to cover.
Major trends such as automation, digitalization and electrification will continue to shape fluid power and electromechanical technologies in 2026 and beyond, as well as efforts to improve efficiency, connectivity, data collection, reliability and other performance attributes.
While these topics will continue to be coverage areas of focus in the coming year, I’d love to hear from you, our readers, what topics you’d like to see covered or get more focus on in the coming year. Do you want more coverage of larger industry trends, deeper dives into specific technology types, or more content focused on application stories?
Take our brief poll below to offer your suggestions or reach out to me directly at [email protected]. I’m always happy to hear from you about what you’re liking, not liking and want to see more or less of, things you’re seeing in the industry and anything else you’d like to share.
