Hydraulics, pneumatics, electric actuators and other motion control technologies are vital to the operation of mobile applications such as construction equipment and agricultural machinery.

The design of these machines continues to evolve to meet various industry requests such as those for more automation, connectivity, and efficiency. This means fluid power and electromechanical technologies are evolving as well to meet these industry requirements.

To help Power & Motion’s audience understand the technologies and trends currently shaping the designs for mobile applications, we’re kicking off a full week of new content around the topic.

Our Fluid Power and Electromechanical Trends in Mobile Applications ‘takeover week’ as we term it kicks off on March 30. The week will consist of brand-new content published to our site which will also be highlighted in daily newsletters — be sure you’re signed up to receive those so you don’t miss out — and collected into a new eBook that will be available for download. [around here put a ‘what’s a takeover week’ sidebar]

Each piece of content published during the week will highlight specific technological developments taking place or trends shaping development efforts. Topics covered during the week will include:

  • steer-by-wire solutions
  • advancements in control units and systems
  • the current state of electric actuators in mobile applications
  • a review of what construction equipment manufacturers are looking for in hydraulic systems.

My goal with the takeover weeks we do here at Power & Motion is to take a deeper dive into industry trends and applications of importance to our audience.
