Danfoss Looks to Grow Fluid Conveyance Division with Alfagomma Acquisition

Danfoss Power Solutions’ Daniel Winter discusses how the acquisition of Alfagomma will aid the company’s ability to further grow its Fluid Conveyance division where it sees numerous market opportunities.

Key Highlights

  • Daniel Winter, President of Danfoss Power Solutions, provides his insights on how the acquisition of hose and fittings manufacturer Alfagomma will benefit the company's long-term growth strategies.
  • Winter offers his perspectives on the increased product offerings, production capacity and technological capabilities that will now be possible to help drive growth for the Fluid Conveyance division.

On July 9, Danfoss announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Italy-based Alfagomma, a manufacturer of hoses and fittings. Through this acquisition, the company aims to further grow its Fluid Conveyance division.

This is the second acquisition the company has made in the past year to aid growth for its fluid conveyance business. In December 2025, Danfoss closed its acquisition of Hydro Holding which develops hose fittings.

Fluid conveyance — the process of moving fluids, both air and liquids — is vital to the operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. It utilizes hoses and tubing, fittings, couplings, pumps and other components to move fluids from one place to another.

Since fluid power systems remain a widely used technology in mobile and industrial applications, there are numerous opportunities for fluid conveyance solutions in these applications as well.

To learn more about the opportunities Danfoss sees for its Fluid Conveyance division and how they fit in with the company’s overall growth strategy, I spoke with Daniel Winter, President of Danfoss Power Solutions. He offered his insights on how the acquisition of Alfagomma will help increase localized production capacity in more customer markets, potential technological benefits it will bring and more.

Power & Motion: How does the acquisition of Alfagomma fit in with Danfoss' long-term growth plans?

Daniel Winter: Acquiring Alfagomma aligns with Danfoss' long-term strategy, part of which is to accelerate profitable growth. Combining the Alfagomma business with the Fluid Conveyance division — a core business within Danfoss Power Solutions — will create a leading global player in hydraulic and industrial hose manufacturing and distribution.

The acquisition brings together two highly complementary businesses that, together, offer a more complete and competitive fluid conveyance offering. This positions us to gain market share and accelerate long-term growth.

Power & Motion: Why is Danfoss focused on growing its Fluid Conveyance Division? What opportunities does it see in this segment of its business?

Daniel Winter: Fluid conveyance is a strategic growth engine for Danfoss Power Solutions and one of the fastest-growing divisions in the Danfoss Group. We are growing not only through acquisition, but also organically.

Fluid conveyance is a large, highly diverse industry with significant potential. Since entering the market through the Eaton Hydraulics acquisition, Danfoss has identified opportunities across a wide range of sectors, and we continue to uncover applications where the movement of fluids is essential.

With demand spanning nearly every industry, we are only beginning to capture the market’s full potential.

Power & Motion: How will the acquisition aid with the growth of this division?

Daniel Winter: In the fluid conveyance industry, success depends on being able to provide hoses and fittings — sometimes complete assemblies — as well as local service and supply. Danfoss has strong hose manufacturing and fitting production capabilities globally, but those capabilities are not always located in the same regions. Alfagomma closes those gaps.

For example, Danfoss produces hoses in Brazil, whereas Alfagomma manufactures fittings there. Danfoss currently serves Asia Pacific customers with hoses produced in Turkey, while one of Alfagomma’s primary hose manufacturing sites is in Malaysia. South America and Asia are key regions for the Fluid Conveyance division due to their expected growth potential.

With Alfagomma, we will strengthen our service and supply to customers in those markets, which will improve our local market position and enable us to capitalize on that growth.

Beyond local production, the acquisition enhances our portfolio and expertise in markets where Alfagomma has established leadership. Alfagomma is particularly strong in oil and gas, with a dedicated manufacturing footprint, deep technical knowledge, and a comprehensive product range.

The company also has extensive experience serving the mining industry, which requires a different go-to-market strategy and specialized customer support. We will learn from Alfagomma’s success and invest in what works. By combining our strengths, we can offer broader market coverage, uncover new opportunities, and grow in these segments and others.

Power & Motion: What, if any, technology development benefits do you see coming from this acquisition?

Daniel Winter: By bringing together our engineering expertise, application knowledge, and product portfolios, we will accelerate innovation, expand solution offerings, and create more value for customers than either company could achieve independently.

Industrial hose is one of the clearest areas where we see technology benefits. Alfagomma's strong expertise in industrial hose complements our existing capabilities, enabling us to expand our offering, bring new solutions to market more quickly, and better address the evolving needs of industrial hose customers.
