Danfoss Power Solutions Acquiring Hydro Holding
Danfoss Power Solutions has announced plans to acquire hose fittings manufacturer Hydro Holding Spa which will become part of the company’s Fluid Conveyance division.
Hydro Holding develops carbon and stainless-steel fittings and adapters, hose assemblies, and formed steel tubing for use in various applications including material handling, construction, and mining. These products will complement the hoses and fittings already available from the Danfoss Fluid Conveyance division while expanding the total product offering to better serve customers in a wide range of markets.
“Our fittings portfolio perfectly complements Danfoss’ hoses offering, creating strong commercial and manufacturing synergies that will enable us to deliver even greater value to our customers,” stated Stefano Bordegnoni, CEO, Hydro Holding, in the press release announcing the acquisition.
Danfoss noted the acquisition will support the Fluid Conveyance division’s strategic focus to accelerate profitable growth while also helping the company become a stronger player in the European market as Hydro Holding is headquartered in Castello d’Argile, Italy, and already has a presence in the region.
“Bringing Hydro Holding into the Danfoss Fluid Conveyance business is a perfect fit for both organizations. We will create a hose and fitting powerhouse in Europe, and together, we will be able to realize synergies, expand market share, and meet the needs of our customers with innovative solutions and a broader product range,” said Daniel Winter, President, Danfoss Power Solutions.
Domenico Traverso, President of the Fluid Conveyance division, noted during the 2024 Danfoss Distributor Meeting that he sees great growth potential for this division because the technologies it develops are utilized in so many applications. Because of the potential Danfoss sees for this segment, he said it is making several investments in the division.
Fluid conveyance, the transport of fluids or gases from one point to another, is critical to applications ranging from construction equipment and other mobile machinery to aircraft, industrial machinery and even data centers which rely on fluid conveyance for thermal management. The long-term growth potential in these sectors will therefore lead to demand for the hydraulic and industrial hoses, fittings, couplings, and other technologies utilized for moving fluids and gases as well in the coming years.
Through the acquisition of Hydro Holding and the other investments Danfoss is making in its Fluid Conveyance division, it will be better able to meet the long-term demand expected for this segment of its business.
