igus Shows its Low-Cost Automation Portfolio

Feb. 22, 2023
Offerings include the Rebel robot arm, robot control panel and a marketplace for components.

At MD&M West, igus focused on low-cost automation. The company’s Josh Lewis walked through a checkers match between Delta robots in which a gantry system was used to move the play board. Each of the robots were controlled by igus Robot Control (iRC), which has a starting price of $5,600. The controller allows people with less experience to lower the barrier of entry as far as programming the robots.

Another part of the company, Lewis explained, was rbtx.com, a marketplace where igus sells additional robot components, control systems end effectors, end-of-arm tooling, pneumatics and even other companies’ robots.
