Fluid Power Training Institute, Inc. of Utah has filed a lawsuit for alleged copyright infringement in the United States District Court for the District of Utah against Intellischematic, LLC, Telemedia, Inc. and TPC Training Systems of Illinois, Brad E. Jensen, and Atlas Copco Construction Mining Technique USA LLC.

Fluid Power Training Institute Inc., West Valley City, Utah, has filed a lawsuit for alleged copyright infringement in the United States District Court for the District of Utah against Intellischematic LLC, Alpine, Utah; Telemedia Inc. and TPC Training Systems, both of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; Brad E. Jensen, of Utah; and Atlas Copco Construction Mining Technique USA LLC, Commerce City, Colo.

The lawsuit alleges that Intellischematics and the other defendants unlawfully copied and distributed a book titled Understanding Hydraulic Schematic Symbols, which allegedly infringes the copyright of the book titled How to Interpret Fluid Power Symbols, created by Fluid Power Training Institute. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages; FPTI is represented by Frank Campagni, of Salt Lake City.

Rory McLaren, director of FPTI, stated, "I do not have an axe to grind with any company that unknowingly purchased the book from the defendant. All I am looking for is evidence as to the width and breadth of the violation." How to Interpret Fluid Power Symbols is available for $35.95 from the Fluid Power Safety Institute and comes with a companion CD for additional cost.

McLaren can be reached via email at [email protected].
