The mid-conference keynote on Wednesday morning will be given by CFC Solar’s Robert J. (Bob) Sheaf. Sheaf will cover the hot topic “Designing More Energy Efficient System,” and will offer tips on improving energy efficiency in fluid power systems without sacrificing performance. He’ll cover pumps and controls, prime movers, valves, line sizing, actuators, and even some little known tricks of the trade. His presentation will cover hydraulics and pneumatics in both stationary and mobile equipment.
Sheaf—who has earned more than ten certifications by the International Fluid Power Society—is president of CFC-Solar Inc., Fairfield, Ohio. He founded Certified Fluid Consultants in 1990, which obtained Solar Comp, a computer training and consulting firm in 1999 to become CFC-Solar. CFC-Solar provides global fluid power technical training, consulting, and field services. Sheaf has been involved in fluid power technology for more than 37 years. He has been a contributing editor to H&P with his “Troubleshooting Tips” since 2010.
