Sometimes the hardest part of replacing a broken or worn-out hydraulic fitting is identifying what you have. Determining the thread’s configuration is almost child’s play, but matching the thread form and size is another matter altogether. Brennan Industries, Solon, Ohio, makes this task easier by offering its thread identification kit. And the company is making it easier still by announcing that it’ll be giving away one of its kits to three lucky participants who simply fill out an online entry form.
Each kit contains a visual guide and dozens of British and metric sample fittings in a wide variety of sizes, each with a corrosion-resistant, color-coded coating, clearly identified, and with female threads on one end and male on the other. Everything fits into a carrying case with molded cavities for each fitting. The kit retails for more than $700. Brennan will also be giving away 10 countertop mats with visual guides to aid in identifying common sizes of more than six types of fitting connections.
The drawing for the kits and mats will be held November 20, 2018, so entries should be submitted before then.
