Festo Pneumatic Essentials Program Streamlines Order and Delivery Process

April 11, 2023
Easier ordering and faster delivery of pneumatic components will help to alleviate supply chain challenges for OEM customers.

With the launch of its Pneumatic Essentials program, Festo is aiming to alleviate supply chain issues for customers. Pneumatic Essentials is designed to streamline ordering of pneumatic components as well as ensure fast delivery of those which are guaranteed to be in stock.

Included in the Pneumatic Essentials program are 16 components Festo believes fit most common pneumatic applications which include:

  • air preparation,
  • high wear polyurethane tubing,
  • one-way flow control valve,
  • high flow valves for normal and harsh environments,
  • self-teaching proximity switch,
  • mini slide,
  • guided drive,
  • direct interchangeability ANSI NFPA cylinders, and
  • metric and imperial round and compact cylinders.

According to Todd Shannon, business development leader for the Pneumatic Essentials program, Festo spent time studying the marketplace and the company's product offering to determine which products should be included in the program. The company found there was a common thread which runs through about 85% of basic pneumatic applications said Shannon in an interview with Machine Design, an affiliate publication to Power & Motion

Festo evaluated its existing pneumatic component offering and looked at how it could make small design changes to improve manufacturing cycle times. It also developed products from the ground up, enabling it to offer pneumatic components to meet a vast majority of customer applications in a quick timeframe.

Festo says that with this new program, customers in North America will experience short delivery times for catalog and custom pneumatic components included in the Essentials program. Products will be shipped from the Festo Global  Production Center in Mason, OH. Global customers will also benefit from quick, assured shipping of products in the Essentials program from the company's regional service centers.
