In this Q&A with Power & Motion, Camozzi Automation discusses the smart solutions and other technology themes it anticipates seeing at this year’s CONEXPO as well as the future of pneumatics in heavy-duty mobile applications.
*Editor’s note: Questions and responses have been edited for clarity.
Power & Motion: What are some of the technologies or other aspects you are most looking forward to seeing at CONEXPO 2026?
Camozzi Automation: With our focus on smart motion and control solutions built to perform in demanding environments, we’re especially interested in how emerging connected technologies are enhancing uptime, reliability, and serviceability in challenging environments.
Power & Motion: What do you think will be some of the biggest themes or technological trends exhibited at this year’s show? Are there new trends entering the fluid power and construction equipment industries that are likely to be showcased, or will it be some of the same trends we’ve seen over the years, such as automation and electrification?
Camozzi Automation: We have been selling smart automation components into the industrial automation market for many years. Topics like wireless communication and predictive maintenance have been key drivers of our product development strategy here, and we are now bringing that know-how into mobile markets.
Power & Motion: Are you able to share what themes or technology areas your company will be showcasing at its CONEXPO booth this year?
Camozzi Automation: Our theme this year is “Taking You Forward,” reflecting our commitment to helping our customers advance with smarter motion and control solutions that combine durability, efficiency, and intelligent system design. The solutions we’re showcasing are designed to deliver consistent performance, extended service life, and dependable operation in harsh environments; priorities our customers consistently identify as essential when designing equipment for demanding, real-world applications.
Power & Motion: What are some of the features or capabilities OEMs in the construction equipment market are looking for currently from their pneumatic components and systems?
Camozzi Automation: There’s a lot of discussion about moving entirely toward electric actuation as a standard, but we see the value in a holistic multi-technology approach that leverages the best of both worlds. For example, we work with customers to combine the simplicity of electric movement with the softness and inherent responsiveness of a pneumatic actuator, creating systems that perform optimally for each function.
Power & Motion: How do you see the use of pneumatics in construction equipment continuing to evolve in the next 5 years?
Camozzi Automation: The future of pneumatics in construction equipment will increasingly center on proportional control. When paired with smart sensors and connected systems, pneumatic solutions will continue to enhance machine performance through improved control, greater visibility, and more effective maintenance strategies.
