Ohio State Honors Instrumentation Company Founder

The Stillman Robinson award honors those who value their professional careers and demonstrate a commitment to engineering and innovation.

William L. Clippard (Bill), Chairman of the Board, Clippard Instrument Laboratory Inc., has been awarded the Stillman Robinson Lifetime Achievement Award for his commitment to the field of engineering by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of The Ohio State University.

The award honors retired or emeritus alumni who have contributed to the advancement of their chosen profession. It is named for Robinson, who entered Ohio State in 1878, and was the founding chairperson of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.  He was also one of the founders of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and received an Honorary Doctorate of Science degree from Ohio State in 1896.

Clippard has distinguished himself as an entrepreneur, innovator, and teacher. He has designed and created unique products and manufacturing processes used in various industries throughout the world, helping to establish Clippard’s miniature pneumatic offerings.
