June 2026 shipments were also above those reported in June 2025:

• Total Fluid Power Shipments rose 4.7%
• Pneumatic Shipments rose 12.8%
• Hydraulic Shipments rose 5.7%.

June’s rise in shipments indicates the fluid power industry may finally be hitting a period of more stability.

Data has been up and down over the past few years, with shipments mostly remaining in negative territory. However, May 2026 data showed declines were not as sharp as in months past; for comparison, total fluid power shipments in April 2026 declined -6.6% on a month-over-month basis but in May 2026 were down just 3.6%.  

In addition, NFPA reported that May 2026 data showed the 12/12 rate of change at that time was improving compared to past months.

June 2026 data also showed improvements for the 12/12 as well as 3/12 rates of change, further signifying the fluid power industry could be headed toward more stable conditions.

The 12/12 values went from -2.1%, -2.0%, and 0.3% in May to -1.8%, -1.0%, and 0.7% in June. NFPA stated in its June 2026 market trends report that if the industry continues to follow past trends, it is on pace to finish a few percentage points over last year.

This will be welcome after several years of market uncertainty for the fluid power industry, brought on by tariffs, high interest rates and other economic factors which impacted demand for many hydraulics and pneumatics companies as well as their customers.

Fluid power shipments were down at the end of 2024 and throughout much of 2025. But June’s increase in shipments is hopefully a turning point for the fluid power industry.
