The Gates Data Master MegaFlex hose provides higher volume coolant flow for liquid cooling systems in data centers.

Gates has launched the Data Master MegaFlex large-diameter cooling hose for use in data centers. Construction of data centers is increasing to meet increased computing needs for various applications, and require a lot of cooling to maintain performance. Fluid power components such as hoses have become integral components in the liquid cooling systems being utilized in many data centers.

The Data Master MegaFlex hose was developed speficially to provide higher-volume, faster coolant flow to maximize heat transfer and minimize system strain for cooling systems.

Read "The Importance of Hydraulic Hose Size" to learn more about the importance of selecting the right size hose for an application to ensure proper fluid flow and other performance aspects.

By utilizing the Gates MegaFlex technology, the hose can bend at an extremely tight radius without kinking or restricting flow aid installation in the often confined spaces of data centers. Per Gates, the hose has up to a 75% tighter minimum bend radius than other alternatives which not only eases hose routing but also provides cleaner layouts and greater design flexibility in high-density environments.

Other features of the Data Master MegaFlex hose include:

  • size ranges from 1.25-2 in.
  • compliance with UL224 VW-1 and UL94V-0 standards for flame resistance and safety
  • scalable flow capacity to support high-density, high-power server racks
  • ozone resistance to cover degradation from electronics
  • peroxide-cured EPDM tube for compatibility with multiple coolant types, including PG25
  • zinc-free peroxide-cured EPDM tube avoids fluid contamination over time
