Fluid Power Conference & Expo returns to Milwaukee

Feb. 11, 2013

Last June, I went on maternity leave just as we were gearing up for our Fluid Power Conference & Expo in Minneapolis. And though I was excited to meet our new little one (our beautiful daughter is already almost eight months old already!), there was a small part of me that was disappointed I was missing what turned out to be a fabulous event.

So I'm glad to say we're hosting the event again this June 11-12, this time at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. I'm now doubly excited — this is a great event and I don't like missing the chance to meet makers and users of fluid power technology. And I have a soft spot in my heart for Milwaukee. I've only been there twice — both times for work — but it's a great city. And the folks at MSOE are extremely knowledgable and wonderful to work with. I speak from experience. The last time we held the Conference in Milwaukee, we did have an opportunity to tour the Fluid Power Institute. Plus, I attended a week-long seminar on Basic Hydraulics at MSOE about four years ago now.

This year we'll once again have exhibitors on hand to answer questions about their components and technology; we'll have great speakers, including Bob Sheaf of CFC-Industrial Training, Tom Wanke, of MSOE, and possibly our own contributing editor, Jack Johnson. The event will also feature a tour of a local manufacturing facility, and our evening cocktail hour.

I hope I can turn it into a long weekend with the family, too. Milwaukee, like Cleveland, is a small but lovely city and has a lot of see and do. So make sure you save the dates of June 11-12!
