As a Euclid, Ohio native, who is proud to call that town my birthplace — and a fan of Lincoln Electric, where my father worked nearly his whole adult life and where I worked my first real communications job — I am proud to see this story about how Lincoln will be erecting one of the nation's largest wind turbines right on its property.
Lincoln agreed to buy the turbine to demonstrate its support of building a wind turbine manufacturing facility in the Greater Cleveland area. Just the one turbine is expected to save the company nearly a half-million dollars on its electricity bills.
I can't wait to see it along the highway and hope I can learn more about the technology that goes into such a large machine. I imagine there are some powerful hydraulics that will run it. Stay tuned!
