Control system is tailor made for mobile hydraulics

Oct. 6, 2005
The BODAS system and components are designed for operation of mobile equipment in harsh environments and feature easy-to-use development and interface tools for reliable system installation and easy setup.

Whether it is large or small, simple or complex, mobile equipment can benefit from the modular solution approach of BODAS control system and components.

The BODAS system and components are designed for operation of mobile equipment in harsh environments and feature easy-to-use development and interface tools for reliable system installation and easy setup. Developed, tested, and produced in cooperation between Bosch Automotive and Rexroth engineering groups, BODAS was introduced by the Hydraulics technology group of Bosch Rexroth, Hoffman Estates, Ill., as its latest mobile electronic system.

The BODAS software features a building block architecture. Its programming interface is based on standard IEC 61131-3 and is comparable to industrial control systems that use a PLC. Furthermore, easy-to-use development and interface tools allow for reliable system installation and easy setup. In addition, software application packages are function-specific, so users can select and configure turnkey coordinated software modules depending on the particular requirements of their system. Individual and precisely tailored software concepts also can be achieved.

Whether starting with modules from a library or starting a new project, users can develop their own software solutions or fall back on Bosch Rexroth as the software supplier.

Well-established controllers form the key elements of the BODAS hardware modules (building blocks). Powerful sensors, such as the intelligent DSM speed sensor with integrated diagnostics or the PR2 family of pressure sensors — along with joysticks and a graphical display — complete the BODAS hardware building-block package.
