The entire collection of technical papers from the National Conference on Fluid Power (NCFP) is available for download. Founded in 1953, the National Fluid Power Association just completed its 50th year and is honoring the history of NCFP by making this information available. The papers can be downloaded at no cost by anyone interested learning about the progression of fluid power technology.
The papers represent the work of distinguished technical and engineering professionals the fluid power industry, and span the years from the first NCFP event in 1947 to the 49th conference in 2002. The papers are contained in a searchable database at www. nfpa. com under "Technical/Standards." It is searchable by year, session subject, author, and keyword in the title and abstract.
2005 Technical Conference Planning is underway for the 2005 NCFP Technical Conference, held in conjunction with the International Exposition for Power Transmission March 15-19, 2005, in Las Vegas. The conference will feature experts from around the world delivering presentations on the latest developments in power transmission — hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical. The conference will be organized into two segments: a Technology and Design Program and a Hydraulic Fluids Symposium. Nearly 100 papers will be presented. In a departure from conventional wisdom, motion control can be implemented to increase production rate and product quality and consistency—all at the same time.
Newcomers to medical device design may think pressure and flow rate are sufficient parameters whenselecting a pump. While this may be true in some industrial applications, medical...
Variable volume pumps, also known as precision dispense pumps, are a positive displacement pump that operates by retracting a piston to aspirate a fluid and then extending the...
Acheck valve, a non-return or one-way valve, is a mechanical device that allows a gas or liquid to flow freely in one direction while preventing reverse flow in the opposite ...
Engineers tasked with managing fluid flow talk about both holes and calibrated orifices, but they are two distinct entities. A hole can be any opening, but a calibrated orifice...
