Plateflow plate and frame heat exchangers yield heat transfer coefficients three to five times greater than other exchangers. Combined with true counter current flow, they require 1/3 to 1/5 the surface area of conventional shell and tube exchangers. They come in free-flow designs for clog-resistant performance and double-wall and semi-welded plate designs for contamination protection and aggressive fluids. Thirty-five models come with connections to 20 in. in diameter.
