The ZAPI GROUP’s annual Future of Electrification virtual conference returns April 21-22, 2026. This year’s theme is “From Hype to Reality” to explore how electrification is moving beyond early adoption and bringing tangible results in real-world applications.

OEMS, technology suppliers, end-users and operators will share strategies and key takeaways from their own experiences developing and utilizing electrification solutions.

Registration for the event is now open and free to anyone interested in learning more about electrification of industrial, commercial and utility vehicles — including construction, agriculture, material handling, and heavy-duty fleets. Engineers, product developers and others involved in the development and use of electric vehicles are encouraged to attend.

“As electrification becomes an everyday reality for industries worldwide, our focus remains on sharing the practical lessons and real-world results that drive progress,” said Claes Avasjo, Executive Director for ZAPI GROUP. “Now in its fifth year, ZAPI GROUP’s Future of Electrification conference has become a trusted forum for practical knowledge and shared learning, bringing leaders together to exchange insights and inspire one another as we collectively shape a more sustainable and innovative future.”

The agenda for the 2026 Future of Electrification event is still being finalized, but a few speakers are confirmed, including the keynote address which will be given by Dr. Michelle Dickinson, a world-renowned nanotechnologist and innovation expert. Dr. Dickinson’s keynote will explore the real-world impact of AI (artificial intelligence) and technology on business and society.

Additional confirmed speakers include:

  • Matthew Diener of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) who will highlight CARB’s progress in advancing vehicle and equipment electrification across both on-road and off-road sectors, and
  • Javier Miguelez, a leading authority in mobile robotics and logistics consulting, who will share strategies for effective automation.

As in years past, the conference will be comprised of a mix of presentations and panel discussions moderated by industry media covering the electrification space in various capacities, including Power & Motion’s own editor Sara Jensen.

Electrification has been an important technology development area for the fluid power industry in recent years due to the continued use of hydraulics and pneumatics in many vehicle applications, prompting an increased focus on improving the efficiency of fluid power technologies, a re-evaluation of system architectures and more.

As the electrification space has continued to evolve, Power & Motion wants to know if it is still an important development area for the fluid power industry. Take our brief survey below to offer your thoughts!
