STLE Partnering with MPMA Fall Technical Meeting

STLE is collaborating with the Motion + Power Manufacturers Alliance to bring technical insights from the lubrication field to gear and bearing professionals at the alliance’s fall meeting.

The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) announces it has formed a partnership with the Motion + Power Manufacturers Alliance (MPMA), an association focused on gears, bearings and other power transmission-related technologies.

Through this newly formed partnership, STLE will collaborate with MPMA on its 2026 Fall Technical Meeting scheduled to take place October 5-7, 2026, in Rosemont, IL. This collaboration will entail STLE presenting findings from its 2026 Emerging Trends Report which is published once every 3 years to highlight current and future trends impacting tribology and lubrication engineering.

STLE is also encouraging members to submit technical presentations for the MPMA event as part of the collaboration.

"We are excited to amplify STLE's voice…. Our curated track and invitation for abstract submissions underscore STLE's commitment to advancing technical excellence and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration," said Rebecca Lintow, STLE Executive Director.

In addition to the double-blind, peer-reviewed technical papers typically featured at MPMA’s fall meeting, the association is expanding the event to now include a second track dedicated to presentation-only submissions. It is doing so to encourage broader participation from researchers and industry professionals. This is where the association is hoping to attract participation from the lubrication field as oil and other lubricants are critical to the operation of power transmission components such as bearings and gears.

Presentations within this new track will include:

  • case studies,
  • showcases of cutting-edge developments,
  • innovative company solutions to market challenges,
  • technical advancements in manufacturing and inspection, and
  • emerging technologies poised to influence the future of the bearing and gear industries.

"Our two organizations have a lot of cross-over in the manufacturing space. For us to combine efforts, we have the ability to deliver an enhanced networking event for all involved," stated Leah Lewis, VP, Education & Events for MPMA.

Presentation-only submissions are due March 27, 2026; instructions for doing so can be found on the 2026 Fall Technical Meeting’s website.
