According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), owner of CONEXPO & IFPE), the Next Level Awards celebrate exhibiting companies that are pushing the boundaries and developing next-level products, technologies and services designed to advance the construction industry.

"We were overwhelmed by the response to our call for submissions for this inaugural event and we’re excited to recognize these innovative construction products that are taking the industry to the next level," said Dana Wuesthoff, CONEXPO-CON/AGG show director, in the association's press release announcing the finalists.

Innovation Selected by Industry

While those developing technologies for the construction industry were able to submit their products, it will be the users of that technology which get to determine the winner.

The 10 finalists were chosen by a panel of Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) members. AGC is comprised of qualified construction contractors and industry related companies; it works to help address concerns of its members as well as the overall construction industry.

Per AEM, the submitted products were judged on three criteria:

  • Addresses a common industry need in a unique and innovative way.
  • Benefits the industry across multiple applications for industry wide adoption.
  • Positively impacts the safety, sustainability, and workforce of the industry.

Finalists for the award will be able to include signage in their CONEXPO & IFPE booths which includes a QR code so attendees can vote for their favorite. Voting will only occur at the show. The winner will be named Contractors' Top Choice, signifying those who would use and most benefit from the technology are making their voice heard on the types of technologies they deem most innovative and capable of helping get their work done in a safe, productive and efficient manner.

"The Next Level Awards are a great showcase of the innovation taking place across the construction marketplace," said AGC CEO Stephen Sandherr.
