Total Fluid Power Shipments Continue Growth Trend

Nov. 1, 2022
The latest data from NFPA shows total fluid power shipments in September 2022 rose from the previous month.

The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) has released its latest fluid power industry data for September 2022. On a 12-month moving average, growth continued for shipments of pneumatics and hydraulics as well as total fluid power.

In September, the year-to-date percent change for total fluid power shipments reached 17.2%. This was an increase over August which was reported at 16.4%

Orders of mobile hydraulic components received between October 2021 and September 2022 are 107.7% of those received from October 2020 to September 2021. This is down slightly from August; at that time orders were 113.1% of those from the previous year.

NFPA reports its raw data shows a decrease in pneumatic and mobile hydraulic shipments in September. However, shipments for industrial hydraulics increased compared to August 2022.

Overall, the fluid power industry appears to remain on a positive trend as strong demand continues for goods and products in which hydraulic and pneumatic components are utilized.
