Danfoss KBFRG4-5 Industrial Hydraulic Valve Provides High Power Capacity

Nov. 19, 2024
The KBFRG4-5 hydraulic valve provides higher levels of power and durability for use in a range of industrial applications.

The KBFRG4-5 from Danfoss Power Solutions is a single-stage, four-way hydraulic valve with round solenoid design for various industrial applications.

Key features of the hydraulic valve include:

  • pressure rating of 350 bar (5,076 psi)
  • maximum flow of 290 lpm (77 gpm) at 57 bar (827 psi)
  • step response of 20 ms for enhanced performance
  • multiple spool options with various flow ratings
  • IP67 ingress protection rating
  • high corrosion resistance option available
  • robust metal housing for increased vibration and shock resistance (7.8 g random, 50 g shock)
  • complies with various industry standard certifications including CE, UKCA, REACH, RoHS, and EMI/EMC.

Industrial Hydraulic Valve Provides High Level of Performance and Ease of Integration

Danfoss' latest addition to the Vickers line of proportional valves, the KBFRG4-5, is designed to provide higher power capacities and durability.

"With its robust design, high performance, and advanced features, the valve is an ideal choice for a wide range of demanding applications,” said Dr. Peter Lauer, Global Product Manager, Industrial division, Danfoss Power Solutions.

Industrial applications in which the hydraulic valve can be used include wind turbines, machine tools, plastic molding, metal forming, pulp and paper processing, and several others.

According to Danfoss, design features such as the valve's round solenoids, external linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) as well as starndard CETOP 5 body and spools help to provide a cost-effective option for design teams.

Also benefiting use of the KBFRG4-5 hydraulic valve are the tools and features it comes with to help simplify setup, commissioning and troubleshooting — an increasingly important aspect as companies of all types continue to struggle with finding skilled workers.

Like most hydraulic technologies today, the valve is equipped with CAN communication to enable it to "talk" easily with other components in a system. In addition, the valve features configurable control modes, which can be programmed using Danfoss’ Pro-FX Configure software. Optional valve test kits are available to simplify on-site commissioning while the valve’s built-in health monitoring and LED indicator lights simplify diagnostics.
