Free In-Person Seminar Covers Hydraulic System Modeling

Would you like to investigate how hydraulic servovalves can be modeled? Are you aware of the stabilizing or destabilizing effects that flow forces can have on valves? Maybe you know about cavitation and water hammer, but do you know how hydraulic modeling can be integrated with multi-body dynamics to greater understand these phenomena?

If you’ve been looking for answers to these questions, you may want to investigate a free in-person seminar offered by MSC Software, Newport Beach, Calif.

The all-day seminar will be held Thursday, September 3, from 9:00 to 4:00 in Bellevue, Wash. It will also be held from 9:00 to 4:00 Monday, October 12 at MSC Headquarters in Newport Beach. The seminar is free, but you must register in advance. Some experience in hydraulics modeling is helpful, but not required. Lunch and a continental breakfast are included.

Curriculum details

Exercises will be conducted throughout the day for:
hydraulic assembly and pump modeling,
frequency response,
flow forces,
integration of Easy5 and multibody dynamics, and
detailed servovalve.

The workshop is appropriate for engineers with a basic knowledge of physics and engineering mathematics. Attendees will learn how to specify sizing requirements for hydraulic systems and validate hydraulic performance prior to build and test. Attendees will also develop skills coupling hydraulic modeling with multi-body dynamics models and better understand how commercial programs use lumped-parameter techniques to model hydraulic system dynamics.

Both seminars will be conducted by Chris Davidson, Lead Application Engineer with MSC Software. He has more than 25 years experience modeling hydraulic systems, multi-body dynamics, structural dynamics, and fatigue. Lunch and a continental breakfast are included.
