Master Bond EP62-1AO is a two-component, flowable epoxy system with an exceptionally long open time at ambient temperature. It has a forgiving 100 to 10 mix ratio by weight. The pot life of 100 grams is 12-14 hours. Typical cure schedule options are 4-6 hours at 140-160°F, 20-40 minutes at 175-200°F or 10-20 minutes at 250-300°F. To obtain optimum properties, post-curing at 200-300°F for 2-4 hours is recommended. EP62-1AO gels at room temperature in about 24 hours and it will not reliquify when the elevated temperature is added to complete the cure.
EP62-1AO bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, glass, ceramics, composites, and many plastics and rubbers. When compared to other thermally conductive epoxies, it is noteworthy that EP62-1AO has a better chemical resistance profile to acids, bases, and solvents. The service temperature range is -60°F to +450°F. The color of Part A is off-white and Part B is dark brown. EP62-1AO is used for aerospace, electronic, optical, specialty OEM, and related applications, particularly when high-temperature resistance, thermal conductivity along with electrical insulation are required.
