MSOE offers hydraulic specialist certification review

March 1, 2012
Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is holding a review session for IFPS Hydraulic Specialist Certification, granted by the International Fluid Power Society.

A week ago or so, someone in our LinkedIn group asked me some questions about IFPS certification, and I really couldn't answer. I don't know much about the certification courses, as I have never completed any nor will I ever. As an editor, I don't need to be certified in fluid power.

So I thought the timing was amazing when I saw this news from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) about a special review session it is offering on April 2-5, for IFPS Hydraulic Specialist Certification, a certification degree granted by IFPS based on passing a three-hour written test provided and proctored by IFPS. For more information, please visit the IFPS certification page.

The review is a three day session held and provided by MSOE followed by the certification exam on the fourth day. The objective of the course is to provide instructions and review basics of hydraulics to maximize the chance of passing the exam. It is a non-CEU program, meaning MSOE will not grant credit units or a certificate. Study material is based on the IFPS study guide.

It is required for candidates who are involved in hydraulic system sales, design, modeling and supervising system operation. The session registration does not include the exam fee. If you are interested in getting certified, you must register for the exam online or call (414) 277-7269.

Register for the review session here.

Perhaps a course like this will help others wanting to learn more about IFPS certification.
