Two attendees of the 2006 Fluid Power Expo, sponsored by Hydraulics & Pneumatics, were randomly selected to win an iPod for filling out seminar surveys. Special congratulations go out to John Dekarski and Tom McGuire.

Dekarski is a mechanical engineer at Loram Maintenance of Way Inc., Hamel, Minn. He has been working in the fluid power group for a little more than a year. Dekarski became interested in fluid power when he took a hydraulics course while attending North Dakota State University in Fargo.

McGuire, quality manager at Integrated Hydraulics, Mentor, Ohio, attended the seminars because he oversees the engineering department at the fluid power company. With a background in mechanical design, McGuire is no stranger to designing hydraulic manifolds. He has 15 years' experience working in the fluid power field.

McGuire says the close location of the event attracted him to the Expo two years in a row. "The location and price is right for the training involved. Being able to attend that many classes in oneday is very advantageous. AndI was very happy to see the showpart grow from 2005 to 2006."

The Fluid Power Conference & Expo is slated for May 15 and 16 in Tampa, Fla., and November 13 and 14 in Cleveland. Once again, the conference will showcase 16 solution seminars on a variety of topics from fluid power fundamentals to compressed air preparation, and motion control basics to hydraulic systems filtration.
