Bill Stevens, chairman of Motion Industries for the past 37 years, recently announced his retirement. Tim Breen, named president and CEO in 2014, will take over the chairman position, effective March 1, 2015. Breen and Stevens have worked together for the past five years to make a smooth transition upon Stevens’s retirement. "Tim brings significant experience and skills to lead Motion Industries.  It will be exciting to see the future, as Tim and his management team continue the wonderful tradition of our company,” said Stevens.

Stevens began his career as Motion Industries’ director of human resources and was named president and COO before becoming president and CEO in 1997. Sales have more than doubled during his tenure. Furthermore, the company completed 38 acquisitions and received numerous awards from customers for quality, service, and efficiency.

Tom Gallagher, chairman and CEO of Motion's parent, Genuine Parts Company, comments, “We wish [Bill] the very best in his retirement.  We are also excited to have Tim Breen in the role of president and CEO.  Tim's proven leadership and tremendous industry experience make him the right person to lead Motion to further success in the years ahead."
