The 2020 IFPE conference in Las Vegas March 10-14 not only highlights the outstanding new productions in the industry, but also offers attendees a unique chance to capture the latest industry knowledge from dozens of sessions on site.
More than 20 sessions during the five-day event will focus on hydraulics and pneumatics. The workshops feature everything from a four-hour course on hydraulic system basics on the opening day to discussions of fluid power efficiency, preventive maintenance, and system assessments.
Among the sessions of interest are:
Mon., March 9
8 a.m. to 12 p.m.—Westgate Ballroom E-F
Fundamentals of Hydraulic Systems 101
This presentation is made to increase the awareness of the audience about the fundamental concepts of fluid power technology. The presentation covers some rules of physics about the fluid pressure and flow. The lecture then presents the generic structure of a hydraulic system in addition to construction and principle of operation of the main components—e.g., pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and rotary actuators. The lecture concludes by how to grab all these components in form of a system that works safely and efficiently.
Agenda:
1. Gauge vs. Absolute Pressure
2. Pascal’s Law
3. Laminar vs. Turbulent flow
4. Basic Construction of Hydraulic Systems
5. Hydraulic Pumps & Motors Overview
6. Hydraulic Valves Overview
7. Reciprocating Actuators Overview
