In a recent post to our technical discussion
forums, H&P’s editor Alan Hitchcox talks about some shortcomings in the industry recently discussed in meetings with the British Fluid Power Association and GAMBICA, an organization representing instrumentation, control, automation, and laboratory technology companies.
The article discussed some perceived shortcomings in the fluid power industry—namely, safety analysis concerns, especially in the area of “mean time before failure” and a lack of understanding of complex control systems used to interface with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
