Parker Hannifin launched its new OnSite program at IFPE 2011, allowing users to maintain, manage and repair hose assemblies and other critical hydraulic components used on mobile equipment.

When working in remote locations (as in mining) or on massive construction projects, a damaged or broken hose assembly can shut a project down. Waiting for repairs or new hoses and assemblies is just not cost or time effective. That’s why Parker Hannifin Corp.’s Hose Products Division debuted its new “ParkerStore Onsite” program at IFPE last month. The program provides fully customizable and mobile workspaces stocked with the inventory and equipment needed for quick, easy and cost-efficient hose assembly.

Company representatives say similar containers were first donated and used during debris removal at the World Trade Centers after September 11, 2001. Parker also recently provided similar ones for cleanup in Haiti and possibly even Japan.

With a ParkerStore Onsite container, critical fluid connector products, hose fabrication tools and other hydraulic system components are readily available even in the most remote job locations.

Clearly, the most important tools in hose assemblies are included — necessary sizes and styles of hose will be provided, as are crimping machines and table saws. In addition, any component needed on-site can be included in the containers — from spare pumps, motors and valves to seals, filtration systems and filter media.

The containers are brightly lit and offer plenty of electrical outlets for equipment, while generators are available for a true standalone power solution. For particularly hot or cold environments, the containers can be equipped with insulation and heating/air conditioning systems to make conditions more comfortable for service staff.

Stocking, maintenance and safety training are also available with the containers, through Parker’s service network.
