At Automate this year, robots could be seen just about everywhere you looked. And the show floor was filled with people looking at all those robots to see what advancements are taking shape in this sector.
Though it may not seem an obvious application for hydraulics and pneumatics, these technologies are in fact used in many robotics applications as well as electromechanical technologies. Pneumatics in particular is commonly used in many gripping and end-of-arm tools, helping pick up and place objects that a robot is tasked with moving.
As such, the robotics market is an important customer market for many of Power & Motion’s readers, and a growing one at that. Uptake of automation solutions, including robotics, continues to rise as industries from manufacturing to warehousing to packaging look to overcome labor challenges and increase their productivity.
