Hydraulic hoses are a critical component in construction, agriculture and a wide range of other mobile off-highway equipment applications. As global demand for these machines increases in the coming years due to infrastructure investments and mechanization in various parts of the world, demand for the hydraulic hoses vital to the operation of off-highway equipment is expected to rise as well.
Our lead piece in today’s newsletter comes from research firm Stratview Research, which is projecting the global off-highway hydraulic hose market to grow 4.4% through 2031. The construction equipment sector is expected to drive the largest percentage of growth as construction activity picks up in various global regions.
Also highlighted in today’s newsletter is my conversation with Husco about its new steer-by-wire technology, which received an innovation award at CONEXPO 2026. Adoption of steer-by-wire systems is increasing to provide machine operators with a range of performance enhancements. However, these systems have typically been too complex and expensive. But the Husco GenSteer technology overcomes this by enabling operators to take over if a failure occurs, reducing the number of components usually required to ensure safety.
