Another CONEXPO has now come and gone, but I’ll be digging through all of the information collected for several weeks, which is never a bad thing because it means there was a lot of great technology to see and conversations had with fluid power and other technology suppliers.
Today’s final edition in our series of CONEXPO-focused newsletters leads off with a look at the top 3 trends which most stuck out to me at this year’s show — advancements in sensors, efforts to improve ease of use, and a re-emphasis on hybrids. Broad industry trends like electrification, automation and digitalization are still important focus areas for many, but compared to past years it felt like technological developments were more focused on the immediate efficiency, productivity and other benefits that could be achieved.
Forward-looking innovations are great to see, but there also needs to be technology machine users can employ now to get their work done, and there is plenty of innovation taking place to help achieve this while also setting the stage for future technological advancements and capabilities.
Other highlights in today’s newsletter include Husco being announced as a winner of the Next Level Award honoring innovations in the construction industry as well as a new collaboration between HydraForce and Elevat to help equipment manufacturers deploy IoT and telematics solutions.
There is also another piece from my colleagues at Construction Equipment which provides an overview of Prinoth’s newest crawler carrier unveiled at CONEXPO. It features hydro-pneumatic shock absorbers that adjust automatically to load conditions, leading to a more comfortable operating experience.
Be sure to stay tuned in the coming weeks and months for more technology developments from this year’s event, and you can always visit our CONEXPO 2026 page to view all of the content we have published so far related to the show.
