AI feels like it’s everywhere these days. But what about hydraulics and pneumatics systems? Are there use cases of it within the fluid power industry, or is it even a viable option for the sector?

Results of a reader poll I conducted last year, as well as Power & Motion’s 2025 Salary & Career Survey indicated adoption with fluid power technologies has been minimal so far, although it has been a useful tool for many work tasks.

But that was last year. The capabilities of artificial intelligence have increased immensely, and continue to improve.

So I’m running another poll to find out if use of AI within hydraulics and pneumatics has changed at all, or new opportunities are presenting themselves.
