Automate, a large trade show for robotics and automation, starts next week. So for today’s newsletter we’re leading off with my recent discussion with Richard Vaughn, Joaquin Ocampo and Bill LeAnna from Bosch Rexroth about the key themes they expect to see at this year’s show. Key areas of interest for them include AI and full electrification.
Humanoid robots are also an area of interest for Richard who noted the growth of this sector during our discussion and how it utilizes a lot of linear actuation. He said he’s excited to see what developments are being made in this space and what application opportunities may exist.
This year will be my third time attending Automate. In addition to all the interesting automation technology on display, I’m of course especially interested in seeing the fluid power technologies that will be exhibited. While use of electric solutions continues to grow within the industrial automation market, hydraulics and pneumatics still play an important role in many applications such as those with high force needs or where speed may be a factor.
Will you be at Automate this year? If so, what technologies and trends are you looking forward to seeing? Feel free to reach out to me to share your thoughts on this or any other topics [email protected].
